The powerful phrase "Abominable snowman" was coined in English in 1921, but the Nepalese himamānav may be older and is variously translated as "snowman" and "mountain man". Information on the history of usage of the latter term and the relationship between snow and mountain in Nepalese culture would be appreciated. | |
