As per Ramayan, Ram and Laxman helped Vishwamitra to kill Tataka yakshi. Viswamitra was a sage by then, that means he had already met Menaka, and Shakuntala was born. As per Mahabharata Shakuntala was married to Dushmanta and gave birth to Bharat. This means, Dushyanta or Bharat must have been alive in the same timeline as Ram. If so, why is there no mention of either of them in Ramayan? How come there is no mention of Ram in the mention of Dushyanta and his son Bharat’s timeline in Mahabharata? What am I missing?

The great sage Vishwamitra has written most of the Mandala 3 of the Rigveda, including the Gayatri Mantra. That means he was born before Treta Yuga.
By the name of King Bharat, it is called Bharatvarsha, now called INDIA.
At the time of Ramayan, it already got its name Bharatvarsha.
Lord Ram belongs to Raghuvansha/ Suryavansha which originated from King Ikshvaku.
Pandava belongs to the Bharatvansha which originated from King Bharat.
Thus there is a Youg gap between King Bharat and Lord Ram.
Vishwamitra was present in all those timelines.
