The bălan daos, or albo daos, from Dacia, were priests granted the ability to transform into white wolves by the god Zalmoxis, to defend the Dacian people. The Dacian Kingdom existed between 82 BC until the Roman conquest in AD 106. They were also known as the Getae by the Greeks.
