I am a retired educator, aged 76 years (born 1943). I have a Masters in Education (1968) California Polytechnic State College, San Luis Obispo. I have a website that I publish my Bible research to, www.bibleorigins.net since December of 2000. I have an interest in exploring the Bible's pre-biblical origins. I have self-published two books in 2010, both are available at Amazon.com on the internet, (1) Eden's Serpent: Its Mesopotamian Origin, and (2) The Garden of Eden Myth: Its Pre-biblical Origin in Mesopotamian Myths. My research is of a secular, anthropological nature. My understanding about Christianity is that it is a Hellenized offshoot of Judaism, having embraced concepts from Hellenistic Greek schools of philosophy, Socratic, Cynic and Hermetic. The New Testament's notions about Demons and their powers is derived from Hellenistic Greek (Hermetic) teachings about DAEMONS/DAIMONS. My website has articles on all this. As regards Jesus being the Messiah, my research, in agreement with Jewish belief, is that Jesus is not the Messiah. The Bible, for me, clearly identified the Messiah to be Zerubbabel, a prince of Judah, who was the Persian appointed Governor of Judah. Haggai and Zechariah provided the clues to who was to be the Messiah for they have God declaring that He who rebuilds the Lord's House (Temple) will reign as king on the throne of David (see Zechariah 4:9-10, 6:11-15).
