After defending my thesis in Europe on the Pythagorean philosophical school and its relationships with music, I finished the PhD coursework in musicology in New York City, but decided not to write a dissertation yet. I worked as a university librarian and a contributor to four volumes issued by Garland Publishing in London and NY, but then -- after a change of heart -- I moved away from Academia with the objective of understanding more about the workings of society. I produced and directed two documentaries in California, published poetry, gave lectures, traveled extensively and worked at the same time as a librarian for large corporations and non-profit organizations.
